Anjali Datta Robbed of Valedictorian Title

Posted by: Emily   in US Headlines

I read with interest that 16-year-old Anjali Datta of Grapevine High School, Texas, USA, has been robbed of her Valedictorian title despite graduating with the highest grade point in her school as well as in the history of her district.

At first, she and her parents were told that graduating a year earlier would not harm her chances of being Valedictorian, so she went ahead and completed four years of high school in three years.

Now, the school is saying that she does not qualify for Valedictorian because she did not clock enough time at school. Hah… could it be because Anjali is of Indian descent? I was told of this “American Dream” but is it really there? Does it all ALWAYS boil down to skin color and creed?

So the title of Valedictorian has been awarded to another student, who also now has the honor of delivering her Valedictorian speech at the school’s graduating ceremony. Now, that is a BIG deal. At least for a 16-year-old, at least in America.

But then the award of this Valedictorian has always been controversial and there are times when the “teacher’s pet” has been awarded the title over a more academically qualified student. Bah…I tell you, I am so grateful to be rid of schools and teachers!

I read the news about California pushing for tougher plastic surgery laws and I wonder why only now? Why does it need a death of push for this? Not just any woman, mind you, but an educated woman, a scholar, the mother of a celebrity.

Can you imagine, that if a learned woman can fall into the plastic surgery hype, what chances do we have being brain washed by media on how our lives could be so much better if only if we are more beautiful and all that crap?

Dr. Donda West & Kayne West

I am all for plastic surgery if it is for health reasons but only if it’s under a qualified plastic surgeon and proper procedures are followed. In the case of Dr. Donda West, though, she has been told that she has a high rick of heart attack if she followed through with what she wanted done on her breasts and other parts of her body, yet she still went to another plastic surgeon not only for a second opinion, but to go through with her plastic surgery dream and without a full medical examination.
If that did not ring the alarm of an educated woman, how can anyone expect us to know any better?

I think that the more stringent laws are applied, the better is for the people of California. Just imagine that in the United States, there are parents giving plastic surgeries as birthday gifts to their daughters!
