The Guinness World Record Book has grown by so much through the years that they really have some odd records in their book. Did you know, there was once when I really wanted to own a copy of Guinness World Record Book but later, I thought, whatever for, since the records changes yearly!
I understand that some record holders will have to travel to various cities around the world to help promote the book. I also understand that these people would be paid on stages. What do you think of this idea?
Earlier today, the Guinness World Record Book announced some new records for 2009, ahead of the book launch tomorrow. Seen here in these photos are the new World’s Smallest Man, He Ping Ping and the woman with the world’s longest legs.
Wow, this only happens like once in a hundred years, witnessing the making of the world’s greatest Olympian. I am not sure how he must be feeling now, winning eight Olympic gold medals. Heck, even Michael Phelps himself does not know how to feel.
With eight gold medals in one Games, breaking the record held by Mark Spitz ‘s seven gold medals in one Games which was set in 1972, and being the only athlete with the most Olympic gold medals in the world at 14 right now, moving forward, the world is wondering what else he could achieve. There’s nothing more else to prove. Michael Phelps is the best Olympian ever. Period.
And those of us who witnessed all his swims are in awe and left wondering, besides what played on his iPod (it’s hip hop, by the way), just what kind of engine powered Michael Phelps with each stroke bigger and stronger than the last.
Thank you, Michael Phelps, for showing us that we could achieve our dreams if we set our heart and mind on it.
