Actually, I am not surprised at all. When you are able to spare no expense to in any legal case, you usually will be able to get off scot-free. What more in this case when even the key witness was totally not co-operative at all right from the beginning.
I actually pity the girl, whoever she is. Whether she is R. Kelly’s god-daughter or not, a victim is a victim and justice is not brought down all because of money. Too much money.
Now, this is actually not a two person problem. An acquittal is showing other people that you can do whatever you want and get away from it if you have money. And you know how easy it is to make money in the United States? Just rap or play ball.
Child porn, rape, murder…. what’s all that when you can buy your way out? I wonder how much money R. Kelly spent buying time and shutting mouths. He will be spending even more money right now to repair his image.
Looking at the case with Michael Crowe and the murder of his sister, Stephanie Crowe ten years ago, I keep remembering that I was brought up never to trust the cops. No matter how they treat you like a friend, they will stab you at the back if there is an opportunity. Living in Malaysia, it is worse because there is the Internal Security Act (ISA) where anyone could be locked up without trial. And the family would not even know where the detainee has been taken to.

Stephanie Crowe – murder victim
In the case of the Crowes, they have just lost a 12-year-old daughter whilst their 14-year-old son, Michael Crowe, and his two friends were accused of murdering Stephanie. I think this is a major blow to any family.

Michael & Stephanie Crowe
While I understand all too well about sibling rivalry and there have been times when I felt like I would be hurt due to jealousy, I think it really takes a psycho path to cold blooded kill a sibling.

Richard Tuite – the murderer
It is a wonder that with the many advanced ways of solving crimes, it still took years to solve the murder of Stephanie Crowe. Heh.. ..I think I watched too much US criminal and courtroom dramas. Also, I think that American homes need better security. How about building a fence, eh?
